The Royal Australian Mint celebrates the Year of the Tiger with this 2010 gold proof 10-dollar coin, the fourth gold coin in the Royal Australian Mint’s Lunar Series. This coin shows a tiger, a symbol of power and courage. surrounded by traditional Chinese astrology patterns, as well as the Year of the Tiger Chinese character.

In ancient Chinese culture, the tiger has long been a symbol of power and justice, these qualities are reflected by the 2010 lunar coin. Full of life, fearless, noble and bursting with vigour are just some of the traits of those born in the Year of the Tiger.

Produced in 99.9% pure gold, this coin is like the tiger, charismatic and easily liked. The 2007 & 2008 gold coins in the Lunar Series both sold out and the 2009 coin is very close to also doing likewise.
