Stuck by the Perth Mint from 1/25oz of 99.99% pure gold, this 2008 gold proof coin honors the Maneki Neko, or lucky Waving Cat.

The popular Maneki Neko figurine is believed to bring good luck to homes and businesses. It is believed that Maneki Neko, or "Beckoning Cat", first appeared during the later part of the Edo period (1603-1867) in Japan. A Maneki Neko with a raised left paw attracts customers, friendship and love.

The obverse shows the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, "QUEEN ELIZABETH II", "TUVALU", and the year of issue.

Includes Capsule, Official Case featuring a Granite-effect Base and Glossy Timber Lid, Individually-Numbered Certificate of Authenticity, and Illustrated Box.
