The Giosuč Carducci 2007 Silver Proof Coin
This 2007 San Marino 10 euro silver proof coin commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the death of Giosuč Carducci, one of Italy's greatest poets.
Reverse: On the left, "CARDUCCI" and the poet's signature. In the center, Carducci is represented, with a pen and an ink bottle. On the left, the face value. Along the rim, at the bottom: “1907 - 2007”.
Obverse: Along the rim, on the left, "REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO". In the center, an allegorical composition of three pens with three ink bottles, enclosed in a panel with the word "LIBERTAS", with leaves on top and on the left.
Carducci was regarded as the unofficial national poet of modern Italy. In 1906, he became the first Italian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
