Eisenstein – Cinema Producer


This silver proof coin celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Eisenstein, producer, artist, theorist of the cinema, pedagogue, doctor of art-criticism. His film “The Battleship Potemkin” is one of the highest achievements of the world cinematographic art.

Reverse: The inscription: “S. Eisenstein”, a portrait of Sergei Eisenstein in the sequence of the film, the dates “1898” and “1948”, and a stage curtain. On the left, a cine-camera. At the bottom, the signature of Eisenstein and two paintbrushes.


Obverse: The Emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two-headed eagle), with the semicircular inscription “Bank of Russia” framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim. At the top: “Two Rubles”. At the bottom, the metal sign, the fineness, the year of issue, the fine metal content, and the mint mark.
