Fernando Alonso, member of the Renault F1 Team and 2005 F1 World Champion, established the record for the youngest Formula 1 World Champion Pilot. He was 24 years (and 58 days) old when he won the Brazilian GP in 2005. The first organized Grand Prix was run from Paris to Rouen in 1894 over a distance of 126 km. The winning "horseless carriage" had to be "safe, easily controllable and reasonably economical to run."
