The 2007 Koala Pure Silver Coin
The 2007 Silver Koala Dollar is the first coin in a new series of iconic Perth Mint releases depicting Australia’s most endearing marsupial.
Reverse: In the center, a koala clinging to the branch of a gum tree, in front of a ‘shimmer’ background. At the bottom, "1 oz 999 SILVER".
Obverse: The effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Along the rim, on the left, “Elizabeth II”. On the right “Australia” and the year of issue . At the bottom, along the rim, the face value.
The koala is an herbivore marsupial native to Australia. It lives almost entirely on eucalyptus leaves and sleeps about 20 hours a day. It is one of the few mammals that has fingerprints.
