The First Settlement Ste-Croix Quarter, a 2004 Uncirculated 25 cent coin from Canada.

This commemorative 25-cent coin celebrates the 400th Anniversary of the first French settlement in North America. In 1604, Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons, arrived in Acadie on the flagship Bonne-Renommee. The ship's company included Samuel de Champlain. De Mons tried to establish year-round French settlement in North America on an island he named Sainte-Croix.
